Resurfacing works on the N11 between Junction 13 (Newcastle) and Junction 16 (Rathnew/Wicklow Town) are under way, and run until Saturday 3 October. The southbound carriageway between those junctions is fully closed overnight, with traffic management in place 21:00 to 06:00, Monday to Friday.
That means tonight (Thursday 1 October) and tomorrow night are the last scheduled closures this week.
What's closed
- N11 southbound, Junction 13 to Junction 16: full road closure.
- Junction 14 southbound entry slip: closed.
Diversion
The Council has signed a diversion (the "Blue Route") via N11 Junction 13, the L5050, the R761 and the R772, rejoining the M11. If you're coming off at Junction 14, the Council's notice also refers to a Green Route / Blue Route diversion via the M11 north, L5050, R761 and R772.
The notice doesn't give turn-by-turn directions for this week's closure. For the full step-by-step route, see our M11 night closures article. It covers the same stretch.
What this means for you
- Driving home from Dublin after 9pm tonight or tomorrow? Expect to be sent off at Junction 13 and down the R761. Leave yourself an extra 15 minutes or so.
- Heading out early on Saturday? The notice runs to Saturday 3 October but only lists Monday to Friday hours. Assume the Friday night closure continues until 06:00 on Saturday morning, and watch for signs.
- Northbound traffic and daytime driving aren't mentioned in the notice.
The Council's page also lists the longer M11 southbound night closures, which run until 13 November.
